Denkzauber appointed to represent Discover Crystal River Florida in German-speaking Europe
Citrus County partners with Denkzauber in the German-speaking market: nature experiences, manatees and the original Florida away from the big tourist crowds.
Krefeld, October 1, 2026. Florida can be many things: vibrant cities, long sandy beaches, theme parks and large resorts. But there is another Florida, more original, closer to nature and a little more relaxed. This is exactly the Florida that Discover Crystal River wants to bring to the German-speaking market, and it has appointed Denkzauber GmbH as its in-market representative.
Effective October 1, 2026, Denkzauber is responsible for trade marketing, public relations and in-market representation of the region in German-speaking Europe. Ilona Arnold, Marketing Director of Denkzauber GmbH, leads the account; PR is headed by founder Michaela Arnold.
Where Florida comes naturally
Crystal River sits on Florida’s Gulf Coast in Citrus County, about 90 minutes north of Tampa and Orlando. The region is famous for the springs of Kings Bay, a constant 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 degrees Celsius) year round, where hundreds of manatees shelter in the winter months. Crystal River carries the title “Manatee Capital of the World” for good reason: it is the only place in Florida allowed to offer guided in-water experiences with the manatees, eye to eye with the gentle giants in their natural environment.
And the manatees are far from the whole story: crystal-clear rivers and springs invite kayaking and snorkeling, summer brings scalloping season, when guests gather scallops themselves in the shallow Gulf waters, and the Withlacoochee State Trail ranks among Florida’s most beautiful cycling routes. Add a hotel offering that has visibly evolved in recent years. With Crystal River, Homosassa, Inverness and Floral City, the region unites four towns, each with its own character, that together deliver a Florida experience away from the classic tourist centers.

More visibility in the German-speaking travel trade
With the new representation, Discover Crystal River aims to build the destination’s presence in German-speaking Europe and deepen its cooperation with tour operators, travel agencies and media. Denkzauber will address both the trade and the media landscape and position the region as a fixed building block of Florida itineraries from the German-speaking markets.
